How long is the EIF REVLON Run/Walk For Women?
The course is 5 kilometers (or 3.1 miles).
What is included in the registration fee?
A $30 registration fee is required for all participants over the age of 12 years old. The registration fee is non-refundable and is not tax-deductible. The registration fee helps to cover the costs associated with registration materials and registration processing. The registration fee is not included in the event’s fundraising total. Each registrant will receive an EIF REVLON Run/Walk t-shirt and goodie bag. Beginning April 19th, the registration fee increases to $35. On-event registration will be $35.
Do I have to fundraise or collect donations?
Fundraising is the most crucial part of this event! Collected donations allow us to continue the fight against women’s cancers. In order to continue our support of vital research and community programs, we need donations to fund these critical programs. While fundraising is not required, we ask each participant to set a fundraising goal – $250, $750, $1,250 or more – and to do whatever they can to raise as much money for the cause as possible. Please note that all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law; however, registration fees are not tax-deductible and do not qualify toward fundraising award eligibility. Neither registration fees nor donations are refundable.
To show our appreciation of the donations you raise, we are offering fundraising incentive awards at various levels, beginning at $250. To qualify for awards, all donations must be received by 5 pm EST on Friday, June 11, 2010. Check out the raise funds section for more information about building your own fundraising page and setting your fundraising award goal.
Where does the donation money go?
The donations you raise will support cutting-edge women's cancers research, help provide diagnostic treatment services for medically under-served women, and deliver psycho-social services and financial support to women with cancer and their families. Click here for more information on the 2010 Beneficiaries.
Where do I turn in donation money?
Donations may be mailed before and after the event, or turned in the day of the Run/Walk at the designated drop-off areas. Be sure that your name and BIB number are included on each envelope for tracking purposes – and that you keep a copy of your completed donation form(s) for your records. Donations must be received on or before June 11, 2010, to be eligible for fundraising awards. Company matches are ineligible for individual award consideration.

How do we celebrate cancer survivors at the event?
In proud support of the many survivors who will be joining us, we invite all survivors to pick up a special Survivor Cap from the EIF Survivors Tent in Times Square or Central Park on event day. All survivors are also welcome to come together for a special commemorative survivor photo during our closing ceremonies in Central Park. There will be a sign up mailing list in Central Park, so that every survivor can personally receive the photo to remember such a special day!
What are tribute signs and where can I get them?
Tribute signs are worn in memory or support of loved ones and can be picked up at various locations on the day of the event. In addition, you can print a sign yourself by going to the Downloads section of the website. We also invite survivors to wear their very own tribute sign proclaiming their number of years as a survivor.
Is there a place for me to check my bags?
No. We will be unable to provide baggage transportation from Times Square to Central Park this year. Please bring with you only those things you can run or walk with.
Where do I get my t-shirt and gift bag?
Beginning at 7:00am on event day, participant Gift Bags and T-shirts will be available in Times Square, on 7th Ave between 44th and 45th St, prior to the start of the Run/Walk. You must have your T-Shirt tab from your BIB with you to retrieve your bag. (Team Captains may pick-up multiple participants’ bags so long as they have everyone’s t-shirt tab). Times Square Gift bag distribution will close at 8:30am on May 1st.
Will there be refreshments?
Light snacks will be available both before and after the race. Water will be provided throughout the event.
How do you track each participant?
Each participant, whether running or walking, will receive a runner ID number, also referred to as a BIB number, to wear on the day of the event. This number helps identify each participant for fundraising totals. However, this event is not a qualifying race and we do not track, record or post times. BIB numbers will be mailed to all registered participants within 2 weeks of receipt of registration starting in mid-February.
What if it rains on May 1st?
The EIF REVLON Run/Walk For Women will take place, rain or shine!
Can I bring young children and strollers to the Run/Walk? Do they have to pay the registration fee?
Yes, you may bring young children and a stroller. However, in an effort to keep all participants safe, it is essential that all strollers line up in the back of the crowd for the start of the race. For children to receive an event gift bag/t-shirt and refreshments, a registration fee must be paid.
Can I bring a bike? Roller blades? Scooter? Pets?
No. For your safety and the safety of all participants, bikes, scooters and roller blades are not permitted at the event. You may bring pets so long as they are on a leash. We ask that you use good judgment and consider the safety of participants and spectators when deciding whether or not to bring your pet.
